The WeeWise Guide

A few helpful starting points, written for ordinary people. We're a logging tool and signpost, not a GP. For symptoms or concerns, contact a healthcare professional.

๐Ÿ“– Keeping a fluid diary

Record what you drink, how much you actually consume, the time, and each toilet visit. Where possible, add the measured urine volume. If you can't measure, mark it as unmeasured rather than guessing.

Your records can help you explain your experience at an appointment.

๐ŸŒ™ Nights, days and shift work

If you sleep during the day, your sleep period still matters. Record when you slept and whether needing the toilet woke you. WeeWise is built for unusual schedules as well as conventional nights.

๐Ÿงณ Before heading out

Use an independent toilet map, check likely stopping places and carry any access information that applies to you. Don't change your drinking habits just to create a better-looking record.

๐Ÿฉบ Preparing for the GP

Bring a clear summary of dates, measured amounts, unmeasured visits, drinks and relevant notes. Let the clinician interpret your history. A tracking app cannot tell you what's causing symptoms.

Never force the numbers.

Don't deliberately drink extra, restrict needed fluids or hold urine to hit a target, a chart or a community score. If you're worried about frequent urination, thirst or any change in health, speak to a medical professional. For urgent UK advice use NHS 111; call 999 for a life-threatening emergency.
